2026
International Mobility Assistance
Audience: Statutory staff at French higher
education institutions Duration: 1 month (between February 1 and December 31, 2026)
Call for applications open from November 4 to December 10, 2025.
The School of Hispanic and Iberian Studies (EHEHI) at Casa de Velázquez offers exceptional support for research projects in the Iberian Peninsula.
This research and international mobility grant is aimed at tenured lecturers and researchers in the humanities and social sciences working in the EHEHI's areas of scientific interest. It is aimed in particular, but not exclusively, at lecturers who are beginning or completing their habilitation to supervise research (HDR), or at professors seeking to set up international collaboration projects.
This assistance covers all research activities:
- Fieldwork,
- Consultation of sources,
- Project development,
- Writing HDRs, books, or articles in collaboration.
The project must be in line with the institution's scientific policy, i.e. one of the four scientific areas of focus of the EHEHI, and consider opportunities for collaboration with the Casa de Velázquez, one of its components (the EHEHI or the Académie de France à Madrid (AFM)), or the Madrid Institute for Advanced Study (MIAS). In keeping with the institution's spirit, the prospects for collaboration, which are not necessarily limited to the duration of the stay in the Iberian Peninsula, may take various forms depending on the profile of the teacher-researcher and the nature of their project: expertise in projects or publications, participation in the activities and training of research members and/or resident artists, in the 20 existing research programs of the EHEHI, collaboration with members of the EHEHI, the AFM, or the MIAS, etc.
Funding terms
The purpose of the grant is to finance a one-month assignment between February 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026 (the assignment may be split into two periods). It takes the form of a monthly lump sum of €2,000, without accommodation at the Casa de Velázquez due to ongoing renovations.
