General remarks
In all cases, the loan or reproduction of a work will only be possible depending on its condition and characteristics, which may prevent it from being sent by post or photocopied.
The rules laid down in the directive governing copyright in France apply.
If you need a document that is not in the Casa de Velázquez library, you can :
- ask another institution to lend it to you, if it's a book, or send it to you in electronic form if it's a journal article or part of a monograph,
- suggest its purchase, subject to its consistency with Casa's holdings, its availability on the market, and the library's budget.
The service is free of charge, with some exceptions linked to the standards of the lending center. In these rare cases, we will ask for your financial agreement before finalizing the transaction.
La Casa can send you articles from periodicals or parts of monographs, provided your request complies with copyright regulations. We can send you articles in pdf format at a cost of €4 per article or book fragment, payable by bank transfer.
You can also suggest an acquisition, subject to the coherence of the purchase with the Casa's holdings, its availability on the market and the library's available budget.
The Casa de Velázquez library can send you :
- books, CDs, DVDs and microfiches on loan for one month, extendable on request
- articles from periodicals or parts of monographs, provided your request respects copyright. Sending is in pdf format.
Payment will be made in IFLA vouchers.
In the case of reproduction of rare or precious copies, the rate will be doubled. Before sending, the agreement of the requesting library will be sought.
