Academic background:
Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Cadiz since 2004, and previously an associate professor at the University of Cádiz (2001-2004) and Huelva (1996-2001). He studied at the University of Cadiz, Granada and Galway (Ireland), and was a research fellow at the University of Cadiz, where in June 1995 he obtained his Ph.D. with "Premio Extraordinario".


Current research:
His research has revolved mainly around the crisis of the ancien regime in the final years of the reign of Fernando VII, paying special attention to its international involvement in the context of Trafalgar, the War of Independence, the impact of the European Constitution of 1812 and the French occupation from 1823 to 1828..
