Academic background

Student of geography and history at the University Complutense of Madrid where she obtained a doctoral degree in modern history. Especialized in international history at the London School of Economics and Political Science, she was Research Scholar at the Department of International History and later a visiting scholar at the Institute Pierre Renouvin history of international relations from the University of Paris I-Sorbonne and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.

Current Research

His work, which resulted in the publication of several books and numerous articles cover several research areas: international relations and foreign policy of Spain between 1875 and 1919, the history of international relations in Asia and Pacific, colonial history and postcolonial comparative Asia and the Pacific, the history of the Philippines and Micronesia, and Spain's relations with China and the Philippines.
