Academic background

Professor in the Department of History of thought and social and political movements (Faculty of Political Science and Sociology) from the University Complutense of Madrid.
 School teacher in history and geography from 1981 to 2007, he was Doctor of Geography and Modern and Contemporary History at the University Autonoma de Madrid in 1990. He was then professor of history at the University Center of Guadalajara depending of the UNED between 1999 and 2003. From 2002, he served as professor at the University Complutense of Madrid.
 

Current Research

His work focused on the history of the Spanish "extrema derecha", especially the figure of Jose Maria Pemán. He then turned his attention to the history of antisemitism in Spain. His reflections on the Franco regime have naturally led to posing the problem of the Spanish imperial tradition. Recently, this line has led to favor the history of the Spanish colony of Guinea.
