There are 18 members in the  "École". Members are recruited for one year and sometimes allowed to stay one more year. Candidates have to justify of a post graduated diploma and undertake to do research into Iberian or Ibero-American cultural area in any of the following fields: archaeology, history, geography, linguistics, literature, sociology, economics and political sciences, etc..

        It also accommodates free members, French as well as foreigners, in the same condition as members, and short-stay scholars.

        The "Casa" organizes scientific events every year: seminars, round-table conferences with universities or research bodies which which have signed a co-operation agreement with "La Casa".
